Dear Friend
This is Linda, author of "Being A Singer: the Art, Craft and Science", soprano, singing teacher, coach, associate professor, writer, researcher and course developer. I would like to start off by telling you one thing:
I admire your commitment.
You are a kindred spirit. You're the type of person who faces challenges, seeks mastery, and keeps growing in all areas of your music, singing, teaching and creativity.
My goal is to offer you the best tools, strategies, resources and training for your singing, creativity and career. I'm dedicated to producing results - and as quickly as possible because life is short, and we don't have time or money to waste!
Listen——
I wrote "Being A Singer: the Art, Craft and Science" to help people become great singers. Because I've learned that when you develop mastery in something that you're passionate about, you will transform your life.
Now, I'm writing and publishing a monthly letter that you receive in the mail, "The Singer's Mind Report." And when you join a trial for this clutter-free, research-based, inspirational letter, you'll get three free video masterclasses plus a free three-month membership to SONOVATE.
Not Online. Not clickbait.
And there's no "fluff", no tips and tricks like you find on social media, no AI writing or editing.
I know there's nothing more frustrating than being passionate about singing and teaching, yet unable to develop and grow the way you want.
That's why I'm working to help you grow, and learn in the most effective way possible. I want to "speed things up" for you by eliminating the noise, clarifying current knowledge, providing practical tools and inspiring the artistry you have within.
My goal is to minimize the time it takes for you to become a masterful singer, artist, creative musician, voice teacher or coach. In brief, I want you to get practical results that you can apply to your singing and creative life immediately!
For this reason, I am (with your permission) going to give you a special gift.
I'm going to give you FREE access to a four-part video Masterclass called...
A $500 Value (Yours-For-Free)

In just a moment, you will have access to this Masterclass, for free, forever. This is a comprehensive on-demand video training with a 25 page PDF workbook you can print out at home.
In the masterclass, you'll deep dive into discovering your identity as a singer, your craft, artistry, and you'll dip into the sciences of singing, particularly neuroscience.
✨ How to explore, understand and define your identity as a singer
✨ How to develop your awareness, attention, focus and practice skills for singing.
✨ How to explore and discover your uniqueness and artistry.
Listen—
You know that singing teachers don't want to give away their "secrets". They want to charge for every minute, and they don't want to explain what they do in case others will criticize it or steal their "ideas".
But, I know that when you share knowledge and skills, the impact resonates beyond you like a ripple in a pond. I'm a firm believer in the old saying "a rising tide lifts all boats."
Seeing an up-close demonstration will demystify concepts and tools you find confusing. As a result, it will accelerate your transformation giving you confidence to continue becoming the singer you want to be.
Now... You may be wondering why I'm giving you this video masterclass for free (voice teachers charge for EVERYTHING, you know).
The answer to why I'm giving this away for free is simple...

Giving you the Being A Singer Masterclass is a shameless bribe for saying "maybe" to my physical monthly newsletter, The Singer's Mind Report. This physical letter that you get in the mail once every month, goes deep into being a singer by delving into the neuroscience, psychology, emotions, story-telling and creativity of The Singers' Mind. The Singer's Mind Report includes inspiring stories, current research reviews, interviews, training tools and study materials. Each month, you'll recieve current, clear learning material and a technique or topic you can practice and study for the rest of the month.
Stop training your brain for distraction.
Here's the deal: If you agree to a 1-month free trial of The Singer's Mind Report (which is life-changing), then——
I will give you the Being A Singer Masterclass with Workbook completely free.
And there are no strings attached.
Here's what I mean: If you decide to cancel your 1-month free trial of The Singer's Mind Report——at any time——you still get to keep access to the Being A Singer Masterclass video course.
And, since I know this physical letter will help you develop clarity, confidence and creativity, I'm adding the following additional training materials for FREE.
In fact, I am so convinced The Singer's Mind Letter will transform your mind (and life) that I've decided to "go all out" in enticing you to try it. That's why, I've created three more free gifts you also get to keep (even if you decide to cancel your 1-month trial subscription to my physical monthly newsletter).
Here they are...
A $200 Value!

If I have any regrets about Being A Singer: the Art, Craft and Science, it is because of this: due to space constraints, I was forced to cut out two important sections from the book.
These two sections were called "Singing Myths" and "The Misconceptions of Voice Teaching."
These great myths and misconceptions survive the travesties of time like cockroaches, causing singers so much misery and struggle, over and over again.
This is no idle warning, nor is it some "scare tactic."
If you are not aware of these myths and misconceptions, you stay trapped in your limiting habits, failing to get to where you want to be as a singer and artist.
Top Singing Myths and Misconceptions systematically debunks every singing myth out there. This video class with a 15 page Workbook protects you from the painful mistakes that could keep you trapped in your limiting habits.
Top Singing Myths and Misconceptions is a video class with a 15 page workbook.
And it is not available anywhere else.
A $200 Value!

You don't realize it yet, but Being A Singer has a great deal to do with practical things like attention, goal-setting,(intention) vision and strategic planning!
In fact, all of these things actually make learning to sing, mastery and musicianship easier and more efficient.
You've probably heard the phrase "How you do one thing is how you do everything!"
That means if you learn attention and intention in one area of your life, that practice will spill over to all areas of your life.
Likewise, if you don't pay attention to details, if you don't practice and live intentionally, if you don't build your life around your vision, you won't feel successful in other areas of you're life either. Being A SINGERPRENEUR will train those skills with practical habits you can build effortlessly while providing strategies that help you get the career you want. This comprehensive video masterclass includes a 33 page Workbook so you can design a career you love.
A $197 Value!

This one-of-a-kind, world class community for singers, voice teachers and coaches is available to you for FREE as a companion to The Singer's Mind Letter! The community includes FOUR mini-courses, a weekly LIVE, online masterclass, guest teachers, and a discussion page where you can meet like-minded singers, songwriters, and music-industry pros to help you on your journey towards Being A Singer.
Here's why you'll want to join SONOVATE community now:
You know you love singing and you know what you want to be able to do with your voice and your performing/recording.
But, for many people, it's very difficult to meet like-minded singers and artists, and almost impossible to learn anything about the music industry on your own!
That's why I created SONOVATE, a place for Training, Inspiration and Collaboration.
SONOVATE serves as the perfect companion to the Being A Singer: the Art, Craft and Science and The Singer's Mind Letter. You'll never struggle with confusion, lack of confidence, wondering "where do I start?" or "What do I do next?", which causes a painful cycle of self-doubt and self-criticism.
The combination of these free Masterclasses, SONOVATE and "The Singer's Mind Report" gives you the powerhouse of training you need to grow and reach your vision of your life as a singer and creative.
I LIKE YOU!
To Sum Things Up
Protect your focus. Protect your voice.
OK, that's everything!
To sum things up, I'm giving you the four trainings I detailed above FOR FREE.
Here's a screenshot of everything:

You get...
Being A Singer Masterclass (4-part video Masterclass +25 Page Workbook) - $500 Value
Being A Singer Myths and Misconceptions (video masterclass +15 page Workbook) - $200 Value
Being A SINGERPRENEUR (video Masterclass + 33 Page Workbook ) - $200 Value
Free 3 month subscription to SONOVATE - $197 Value
I am giving you instant access to all four of these trainings—for free—just for saying "maybe" to my life-changing physical monthly newsletter, The Singer's Mind Report.
Why am I offering such an insane deal? (I mean, after all, the Being A Singer Masterclass could be sold for $500!)
So why am I giving away all this teaching along with a cost-only monthly report trial?
Because I know how difficult it is to get the voice, performance skills, artistry and opportunities you want. You have a vision for your life, and I want to help you reach that vision.
I've been reaching for my visions my whole life and I have the tools to show you how to get do the same thing! I'll show you an example with this story:
It's not because I'm overly charitable or crazy (OK, maybe I am a little bit). The reason I'm offering you these four products for free is because I know The Linda Balliro Letter will change the course of your life.
December 2019.
I teach at Berklee College of Music where there is a fairly high percentage of Chinese students. About 30% of my private singing students are from China and many of them were heading home for the semester break at the end of December.
By that time, I’d already seen the news about the mysterious virus outbreak in China. Since I was spending a lot of time with my elderly mother, and I’m a singer, and didn’t want to deal with a long, deadly chest infection.
I was paying attention, and so was the academic vocal community.
January 2020.
When the Spring 2020 semester began, we were already nervous. I was interviewing my Chinese students before they came to their lessons - where were they in China over the break? What was their travel itinerary? Did they have any symptoms?
I had already implemented "keeping distance" and “no hand-shaking” to reduce virus transfer just like I would during flu season.
As the virus spread, and the first cases in the US were discovered, we started preparing for shutdown. We were cleaning pianos and desks, spraying lysol before and after every lesson and not touching doorknobs, even though no one knew how or what transferred this mysterious virus.
March 2020.
Berklee College of Music shutdown begins.
I move into the guest bedroom of my 97 year old mother’s house because she’s not comfortable moving to my place.
The zoom life begins. Although I’d been teaching via SKYPE and ZOOM for decades, there was a huge difference when i began teaching ALL DAY exclusively via ZOOM.
I think everyone in the world knows how the rest of the story goes.
Except the truly life-changing experience for me? Learning how to manage my elderly mother while managing my own life - and the new virus.
(I don’t think I’ll ever forget wiping down groceries before bringing them in the house.)
So how did I get here today with a new promotion of “Being A Singer: the Art, Craft and Science” ( Thank you for your purchase 😀) and the launch of “The Singer’s Mind” newsletter.
Well, it’s been difficult. With several bright lights along the way.
I LIKE YOU!
There is a kind of "magic" in a physical, monthly letter that doesn't exist in today's digital world.
Taking care of the elderly is similar to taking care of a toddler in many ways, except in the first instance, you are the mother, and in my instance, I am the daughter.
Every daughter knows what I mean. The role and your relationship with your mother gets a little turned on its head when you become responsible for your mom.
And since my mother has been fiercely independent since the day she was born, I had to learn how to take good care of her without her noticing what I was doing 😀.
One of the skills I had to work on was “productivity”. Productivity is usually a topic for business people, not singers, creatives and voice teachers, so I was a little turned off and afraid I would stifle my sense of intuition, flow and creativity.
But I was in an emergency situation. I was so overwhelmed, I was ready to give up on my professional and personal life because the walls seemed to be closing in on me. Zooming for hours, taking care of my mother, watching the death toll on the news everyday (and hearing from friends and family struggling with the virus) and helping my students, who were also struggling!
If I didn’t do something, I was going to end up in the hospital or just give up completely and live the rest of my days in my mother’s guest room watching Netflix.
I hate Netflix.
So a new journey began.
"If you want to change your singing,
change your mind."
from "Being A Singer: the Art, Craft and Science"
Life-saving strategy #1:
Connection
One of my mentors, Jack Canfield, was offering an online program to Reignite Your Life (Oh boy! The marketing mania during the shutdowns was EXTREME). The absolute best thing about this program was that I created a private group with 4 other participants. We started reading personal growth books together. We met every Monday to discuss them during the shutdown. We read five books on productivity, personal growth and general wisdom before our lives got too busy to keep the group going. We’ve had a few reunions since then!
Life-saving strategy #2:
Inspiration
Youtube videos of great performers singing and playing at home in their living rooms. WOW! No sound engineering! Check out Bernadette Peters at 74 sitting at her dining room table! Anthony Hopkins classical piano! Alicia Keyes on the floor of her laundry room!
Life-saving strategy #3:
Learning
Although I was becoming very knowledgeable about productivity and how to relate it to my creative life, I was still struggling to actually keep my work moving forward. I rarely had time to work on my own projects, and when I did find an hour or two, I would freeze up with sort of paralysis from overwhelm!
So, I did what I’ve always done when I feel stuck - I started studying. I learned life-hacks so I could set leveraged priorities, take an axe to my task list every week, started trouble-shooting my calendar a week in advance, learned songwriting to add some fun into my life, and applied for a Masters of Science in Applied Neuroscience (yes, I’m crazy, adding work to my schedule when I’m already overloaded - please don’t try this at home!)
Life-saving Strategy #4:
Thriving (or at least starting!)
The vast amount of learning and personal growth that took place during this time will be showing up in The Singer’s Mind Letter, so get ready! I can’t wait to share it with you!
Singing cognition ( literature reviews every month), the science behind creativity, singers' stories of overcoming struggles, practice recommendations, music industry tips and, of course, how to get it all done!
One important thing I learned is that overwhelm leads to paralysis, and if you don’t take care of your cognitive load, your emotional intelligence, and your physical health, you'll pay the price.
Fortunately, I did develop my skills enough so that I graduated with Merit with my Master’s in Applied Neuroscience, took a leave of absence from College teaching, bought a house in Florida for my mother and get her on a plane (now 103 years old!!). PHEW. My mother is thriving in the warm climate, watching sunsets on the lake and having a great social life.
We celebrated New Year’s in the town square and spent the evening sitting by the lake in our new home. ( No more guest room for me, and an actual office! And the Sandhill Cranes are beautiful 🙂)
Through all of this, I have discovered the reason I haven’t been able to hop on the viral video trend, making hundreds of catchy, tik-tok videos with tips and tricks: I don’t like tips and tricks. I don't like short-cuts. And I don't like untested opinions from people who lack knowledge and real-world experience.
No one has ever improved their voice, body and mind with tips and tricks. Training takes practice, an effective mindset and intentional focus.
I like real learning, critical reflection and books I can hold in my hands, long conversations and connecting ideas and … well you get the idea.
But that doesn’t mean that learning can’t be accessible and fun!
That’s what you found in “Being A Singer: the Art, Craft and Science” and that’s what you’ll find each month when you get your postal-mailed copy of “The Singer’s Mind Report."
Real knowledge from real sources that will grow your own awareness and understanding of your voice, body and mind. Without AI, without tips and tricks, exclusive knowledge and inspiration. And it’s fun!
Your whole life will change, just like mine has changed.
So you can Flourish.
The Singer's Mind Letter will be the most transformative and FUN thing you read each month.
Make no bones about it, The Singer's Mind Report is also about something most artists shy away from: Money!
But with a twist.
You see, here's the truth about money:
Money is necessary
but it doesn't have to be evil.
Trust me, being a starving artist is really not as cool as it sounds.
And, yes, creatives need to earn money, too.
Avoiding money to become an artist is just as silly as chasing money to find happiness.
There is a way to be creative, artistic AND earn a great living.
You can have both!
The Singer's Mind Report will train your voice, mind and body so you can develop your vision for your life, that does NOT include "Being A Starving Artist."
Every issue of The Singer's Mind Report is designed to bring you one step closer to this ideal.
Listen up: Singing is part of human survival skills - humans needed to develop a voice capable of complex melody and sounds because we were up against predators with large teeth and claws, and harsh, dangerous environments that made it difficult for tribes to stay together. Our voices became powerful and versatile so we could survive! Even though we're not facing Siberian tigers anymore, we still use our voices for the same reasons. We celebrate, mourn, bond with children and build our community with our singing and voices.
That's why you may feel that your singing and performing are unfulfilling without contribution and impact on your community. When you learn more about the mind and brain of a singer and creativity, you'll develop your vision of how you will contribute to your community and impact the world by sharing your message.
Everything that exists in human society exists because someone had a vision. This isn't "woo-woo" or pseudoscience! Imagination is the greatest tool that every scientist and every artist has - we are all designed to create the world we envision.
By saying "maybe" to The Singer's Mind Report , and yes to a 1-month trial, you'll get expert teaching in the four free gifts I outlined, and the chance to learn how you can create the life of your vision so you can flourish.
If you cancel your free trial——I don't think you'll want to do that——you still keep all four training materials for free!
Every month, sent via physical mail to your doorstep, you'll receive a letter from Linda Balliro. Written by me, not AI, not my assistant. With the most current science, inspiring stories, practice recommendations and worksheets to reinforce your training, expand your knowledge and broaden your creativity.
The letter will pull back the curtain giving you an in-depth look into the mind of a singer - based on science, psychology, introspection, creativity, and real-world performance. You'll build your awareness, knowledge, skills, creativity while having FUN.
You will get the most current research about the neuroscience of singing, cognition, creativity and artistry. Along with inspiring stories and practical training material.
✨ How to improve your technique even when you don't have money for lessons.
✨ How to become more creative
✨ Understand how science and art intertwine and feed each other
✨ The meaning of Mastery and specific, practical training to develop it.
✨ Literature reviews of current research and its implications in the real world, in easy to understand and accessible language.
✨ How to unleash the singer, performer and artist you envision.
✨ How to kill impostor syndrome for good (and how to confidently share your work with the world).
✨ How to regain momentum and clarity if you've hit a roadblock in your creative life.
✨ You'll also learn hacks to eliminate procrastination and better structure your life.
✨ Plus, you'll learn how I keep growing and learning throughout my life, as a singer, artist, writer and teacher..
These are just a few of the topics covered in The Singer's Mind Report.
The Singer's Mind Report will be the most transformative and FUN thing you read each month.
Feed your mind, not the FEED.
Every month you can count on one thing: I pour my heart and soul into each issue of the Report. I share everything I can to expand your knowledge, understanding, self-awareness, productivity and joy of singing and your creative life. No AI, no pre-packaged, automated anything.
You'll hear about the lessons I've had to learn the hard way (the expensive way). You'll learn about the things I wish I'd learned 40 years ago!
You're going to get a behind-the-curtains personal look into my daily work, creativity and visions.
That way, you can learn from my example and apply these pearls of wisdom to your own life.
Listen: I don't take my commitment to you lightly. I will stay focused on my goals to provide you with deep understanding, practical practice models, creativity development and inspiration in The Singer's Mind Report.
That, my friend, is my commitment to you.
It's me writing to you one-on-one every single month. It's me writing to you as your teacher, your mentor, and your guide.
I want you to experience the fulfillment of living the life you envision.
I want you to have the awareness, mastery and fun that you deserve.
That's why I'm here.
Each month, you'll get a paper copy of The Singer's Mind Report in the mail.
Every month, a Fedex letter will arrive on your doorstep with current science, inspiring stories and practical learning materials. You'll look forward to that time when you get to rip open a fresh new issue, sit down with a cup of coffee or tea, and unplug from digital distractions.
You won't find the knoweldge and information in this report on TiK Tok videos, YouTube channels or your neighborhood voice teacher.
The look and feel of The Singer's Mind Report is precisely that of the very best old-school classic printed papers.
There is no fluff. There is no wasted space. There are no "tips". It is concisely written and each issue packs a punch.
I know this letter will transform your singing, creativity and your life..

This covers the cost of shipping and materials. I don't skimp out on quality. The type of paper I use is thick 60 lb paper.
Don't worry; the price you get in at today is what you'll pay forever. I do intend to increase the price to $99/month in the future (which is what it's really worth). However, the rate you get today ($49/month) is the rate you'll pay forever. You're "grandfathered in," as they say.
No, that defeats the purpose of offering a free trial. The reason I offer a 1-month trial is to give you a taste of what you’ll experience. But if you’re not completely satisfied, I’m not happy either! That’s why you can cancel your subscription anytime—by phone or email - [email protected] or +1 910-994-5544.
